Following the stepping down of the UCLG President, the UCLG World Council 2021 approved a collegial Presidency.
The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, and the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, are the current Governing Presidents of UCLG.
The Co-Presidency is composed by the Mayor of Konya, Uğur Ibrahim Altay, the Mayor of San José, Johnny Araya, the Mayor of Xi’an, Li Mingyuan, and the Mayor of The Hague, Jan Van Zanen.
The Treasury is composed of the Mayor of Kitchener, Berry Vrbanovic, and the Mayor of Iriga, Madelaine Y. Alfelor-Gazman.
Ada Colau, Mayor of Barcelona, is Special envoy to the United Nations; Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, is the Chairperson of UNACLA; and Carlos Martínez, Mayor of Soria, Envoy of the Presidency for the New Urban Agenda. Mohamed Boudra, who has been serving as UCLG President from 2019, will accompany the Presidency to our UCLG World Congress in Daejeon as Honorary President.
The Vice-Presidency counts with Armand Béouindé, Mayor of Ouagadougou, President of the Association of Municipalities of Burkina Faso (AMBF), as Vice-President for Africa; Ashok Kumar Byanju Shrestha, Mayor of Dhulikhel and President of the Municipal Association of Nepal, as Vice-President for ASPAC; Aysen Nikolaev, Head of the Republic of Sakha, as Vice-President for Eurasia; Carola Gunnarsson, Mayor of Sala and Vice-President of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, as Vice-President for Europe; Mohamed Saadie, President of the Union of Dannieh Municipalities, as Vice-President for Middle East and West Asia; Carolina Cosse, Mayor of Montevideo, as Vice-President for Latin America; Taneen Rudyk, Municipal Councillor of Vegreville and President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, as Vice-President for North America; Claudia López, Mayor of Bogotá, as Vice-President for Metropolis; and Pablo Jurado Moreno, President of the Consortium of Provincial Autonomous Governments from Ecuador (CONGOPE), as Vice-President for the Forum of Regions.
