Bajo el tema, Desarrollo Económico Local y trabajo digno en la cultura económica de las ciudades intermedias, CGLU y la ciudad de Chefchaouen, celebrarán una sesión de intercambio de conocimiento en el Norte de África entre el 24 y 27 de septiembre.
La Comisión de Cultura inició el proceso de elaboración de la nueva Agenda 21 de la cultura en 2013 mediante los debates que tuvieron lugar en Lille-Métropole, Buenos Aires y Rabat, y dicho proceso continuará durante 2014 a través de reuniones, seminarios y artículos.
El Consejo Mundial de CGLU 2014 tendrá lugar en Haikou, por amable invitación del alcalde Ni Qiang, conjuntamente con el Premio de Guangzhou. Las reuniones estatutarias, incluidos Bureau Ejecutivo y Consejo Mundial, se celebrarán del 24 al 26 de noviembre. El programa también incluye un evento de aprendizaje relativo a la segunda edición del Premio Internacional de Guangzhou a la Innovación Urbana.

Over 4,000 people have already participated in the consultation on ‘Localizing the Post-2015 Agenda’, since its launch in May 2014. El Seminario Internacional sobre "Política Urbana en las ciudades de Mozambique”, se celebró en la Universidad Lúrio FAPF (Facultad de Arquitectura y Planificación) en Nampula, Mozambique, del 11 al 14 de agosto de 2014.
UCLG and its members are advocating for Sustainable Development Goals that take local and regional priorities into account, in particular in the light of rapid urbanization faced in many regions of the world. The Campaign for an Urban SDG was launched because the dynamism of cities represents a major sustainable development opportunity and a dedicated and stand-alone urban SDG is essential.
