The 25th November is the date chosen by the United Nations to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
On this occasion, United Cities and Local Governments would like to recall its involvement in the fight for gender equality and against all forms of violence against women.
UCLG would like to recall the creation within its statutory bodies of a Standing Committee on Gender Equality, approved during the last UCLG Executive Bureau in Rabat in June 2011.
The Standing Committee on Gender Equality has defined "women security" as a strategic axis of its priorities.
