At the aftermath of the earthquake of a 8.9 magnitude that ripped across Japan on Friday 11th March, triggering a tsnunami with dreadful consequences and that will hit other countries of the Pacific region, the World Organisation United Cities and Local Governments expresses the solidarity and support of mayors and local authorities around the world to the Japanese people and local authorities.
Our thoughts are with the people of Japan and with all other country hit at this time. UCLG is currently checking the different practical steps in order to provide any assistance they may require.
