[MC2CM] Sub-regional Peer-Learning Event: Building trust through strengthened cooperation: the role of civil society in the urban governance of migration
25-26 June 2019. Sfax (Tunisia)

In their work with migrants, civil society organisations can help to create spaces of trust and better understanding of the needs and features of migrant populations.

In addition, their work is equally essential for local populations, as it contributes to creating bridges for cultural, religious and social exchange, while promoting a balanced narrative and guaranteeing the fulfilment of human rights in the urban territory.

MC2CM addresses this issue by firstly engaging cities in a process of mapping of their local migration contexts through the City Migration Profile method, hence fostering the creation of a city stakeholder group.

This meeting will engage representatives from civil society organisations in order to ensure that their voice is heard in the construction of such mechanisms of coordination.
