Cities for all: What public action to make housing accessible to citizens

22 October 2019. Paris (France)

Many local governments are currently facing an unprecedented process of real estate commodification, making it difficult for many urban dwellers to access adequate housing.

Several affected territories have developed measures and solutions to deal with these situations and fight against rising land or rental prices, enhance the provision of social housing, regulate and limit short-term rentals and thus provide access to housing for our inhabitants, in their diversity.

This one-day event, jointly convened by the City of Paris and UCLG in close partnership with the FMDV, will be an opportunity to share, build upon cities’ experiences and identify proven solutions in order to formulate policy responses to effectively address these issues.
