The aim of the International Award UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21 is to recognise leading cities and individuals that have distinguished themselves through their contribution to culture as a key dimension in sustainable cities. The Award has two categories: “Cities or Local Governments” and “Individuals”. The Awards Ceremony of the 3rd edition of the International Award UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21 will take place from 18-20 October 2018.
In this context, a high-level Seminar on “Cultural Rights in the City” will be organized in Mexico City. This seminar will present cities, networks and organisations which work with the concept of “cultural rights” and are implementing policies and programmes related to this concept. The seminar will also be the occasion for Mexico City to present and share the results of its work in the area with representatives of cities coming from all continents.
These events will also be the opportunity to celebrate the 15th annual meeting of the Committee on Culture of UCLG.
